One of my favorite childhood memories was the smell of turpentine and watching my grandmother blend the colors on her pallette.
I was hooked and have been painting every since.
For the last 15 years I have enjoyed creating genuine portraits on canvad in rich oil paints.
Unfortunately, This is becoming a lost art.
As most people are not aware, portrait painting is become increasingly digital, being copied by a computer. A process by which your image is scanned into a computer and sprayed onto a canvas. The sellers of such "portraits" claim that these are "real paintings".
While digital portraits are an inexpensive piece of art, they lack dimension, natural brush strocks, rich color and detail. Digital technology doesn’t bring out the same quality as hand painted portraits.
A quality genuine artist rendered piece of art is more likley to increase in value and maintain it's integrity over the years and decades to come.
Computer generated prints tend to lose their value in the market over time.
I use high quality oils in my work to get the best dimension and color.
Family portraits provide wonderful memories and legacy.
We deliver your oil portrait paintings to your door via insured carrier when you order a commissioned oil painting from me.
I can work from a good quality photo. Because the portraits are done by hand and in oil, the painting usually takes 4-5 weeks from order to shipment depending upon the complexity of the subject and and my commission schedule.
Paintings do not include framing.
Seller is responsible for shipping fees. Paintings are caarefully packaged and will be shipped via an insured carrier.

"I had the honor of first stumbling across the Civil War paintings of artist Laura Kerr Marrs on eBay in 2003. Her original oil paintings of Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865), Robert E. Lee (1807-1870), Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson (1824 - 1863), J.E.B. Stuart (1833-1864), Nathan Bedford Forrest (1821-1877), and Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain (1828-1914) just blew me away.
After purchasing her painting of Lincoln, I quickly added the other five paintings to my collection."
